Knowledge Transfer
Projects are risky. They take time, resources, and commitment from all
organizations to deliver successfully. These risks are typically quantitative
and can be mitigated by deploying the right project methodology that blends with
the client’s corporate culture. All too often, however, the most pressing
risk is overlooked: Knowledge Transfer. At some time during the project cycle,
it will become necessary to transfer the knowledge gleaned by the project team
to the client support staff. Failure to properly support the application once
it is delivered is historically one of the largest cause for project failures
and one of the areas least anticipated. ITS mitigates the
risk associated with transitioning the final product by placing knowledge transfer
foremost in our planning process. ITS partners with our client’s
IT organizations by including client team members in strategic and tactical roles
throughout the project lifecycle. This approach – known as our Knowledge
Transfer Initiative – ensures the client is involved in the solution and
has a first-hand account on the decisions being made to drive the solution. ITS’
Knowledge Transfer Initiative ensures that the transition process begins when
the project begins and does not end until the client is satisfied their staff
is understands the delivered solutions and can operate independently.
