Methodology
Project approach and methodologies are critical to the success of any project.
They provide structure and discipline around an activity that requires
both. However, forcing the wrong methodology or approach on a client can cause
just as much havoc, if not more, than having no methodology at all. The
key is to provide the right methodology for the client. One that can be embraced
and understood by all levels of the organization and blends with the client’s
corporate culture. ITS’ approach is to assess the
client’s business and technical processes before recommending a project
methodology. Often, the right approach might be a blend of various methodologies
or a reduction in the project ceremony in order to meet key milestones. ITS
will adapt, adjust and borrow from multiple methodologies, if necessary, in an
effort to maximize the client’s participation, provide the level of ceremony
the client is comfortable with, ensure accountability of all project artifacts,
and lead the project to a timely and successful implementation.
